OUR MISSION
The Lincoln Skatepark Association seeks to establish a citywide network of public skateparks to address growing demand and support Lincoln’s longstanding skateboard culture.
OUR SKATEPARK PROBLEM
Lincoln’s two small skate areas equal less than 12,000 sq. ft. – an inadequate amount that forces skaters into the streets and other dangerous or illegal areas. A city of Lincoln’s size should offer at least 110,000 sq. ft. of safe, durable skating areas to fully support the hundreds of rollersport athletes that live here.

Resident Retention and Attraction
Enhancing Lincoln’s outdoor fitness infrastructure with a network of skateparks makes the city more attractive to high school and college graduates considering their next moves – and to young families looking for safe, healthy places to raise their children.

Health and Wellness
Skateparks promote community and inclusivity while supporting mental and physical health by giving residents safe and legal outdoor places to meet, create and exercise.

Tourism
Like lakes, zoos, bike trails and ski areas, professionally-designed skateparks are proven tourist attractions. And when used as sites for regional and national competitions, they draw athletes and their families from all across the country – who will patronize local hotels, restaurants and retailers.

Accessibility
Public skateparks serve people of all ages, abilities, identities, economic backgrounds and rollersports interests.
OUR SKATEPARK SOLUTION
We have to solve Lincoln’s skatepark problem together. For Lincoln to develop a network of public skateparks, skateboarders, cyclists, scooter riders, inline/quad skaters, wheelchair users, parents and residents must unite and prove that widespread demand exists for those facilities. The Lincoln Skatepark Association needs your support. Sign the petition and join the effort. Subscribe below to learn about upcoming events.
